**All workshop ticket purchases are non-refundable, unless the class gets cancelled or rescheduled. In the case of weather-related cancellations, ticket holders will be notified at least 24 hours in advance and have the option of attending a rescheduled class or having their ticket refunded.**

Kraut & 'Pickle' Class
Thursday, March 19th, 2020
Location: Wolfville Farmers' Market
Time: 9am-12pm

As part of my Spring Break special, I'm offering a discounted ticket price for students (elementary/ high school/ or college/university). We will be using knives to finely slice vegetables, so safe knife handling and chopping skills required).
Learn the essentials and more of specialty sauerkraut (think unusual, seasonal krauts like apple fennel, lemon dill, curtido!) and fermented 'pickle' making (not cucumber pickles this time of year, but other pickles, like carrots, etc.), and make your own to take home with you!

This 3 hour hands-on workshop will provide you with the skills and knowledge to make your own fermented vegetables at home, and will assist you as you create your own sauerkraut and pickles to take home with you. Everything you'll need is provided in the workshop, including:

2 mason jars with fermenting weights and airlocks
-
a variety of local and organic vegetables, herbs, seasonings, and salt to use in your creations
-
tools, bowls, etc
-
an instructive overview of everything you ever wanted (and needed) to know about fermenting vegetables
-
recipes
-
lots of time for Q&A

Fermented vegetable samples will be available for taste-testing, and fermented non-alcoholic beverages will keep you hydrated as you work!

In the event of a winter storm forecast that would make travel unsafe, attendees will be contacted at least 24 hours before the event with an alternate date option.
** All tools, including knives, will be provided for you to use, but feel free to bring an your own favourite kitchen knife if you like. **

Learn the essentials and more of vegan kimchi making (with an emphasis on Seven Acres Ferments' best-selling version of it) and make your own to take home with you!

This 3 hour hands-on workshop will provide you with the skills and knowledge to make your own at home, and will assist you as you create your own kimchi to take home with you. Everything you'll need is provided in the workshop, including:
