About the event
Learn the essentials and more of specialty sauerkraut and brined veggie making, and create your own to take home with you!
This 2 hour hands-on workshop will provide you with the skills and knowledge to make your own fermented vegetables at home, and will assist you as you create your own sauerkraut and brined snacks to take home with you. The small-group size of the class will provide lots of opportunity for in-depth discussions and questions.
Everything you'll need is provided in the workshop, including:
- 2 mason jars with fermenting weights and airlocks
- a variety of local and organic vegetables, herbs, seasonings, and salt to use in your creations
- tools, bowls, etc
- an instructive overview of everything you ever wanted (and needed) to know about fermenting vegetables
- lots of time for Q&A
Fermented vegetable samples will be available for taste-testing, and fermented non-alcoholic beverages will keep you hydrated as you work!
IMPORTANT: We are hosting this class in our on-farm fermenting kitchen. Please wear comfortable, clean shoes and be prepared to stand up while working, as space constraints won't allow for seating.
Tickets are non-refundable, but option to reschedule in the event of weather or illness, at the discretion of the workshop host.
